Nguyen Kha and Phuong Uyen, two student activists who were sentenced today, May 16, 2013, to 8 and 6 years of imprisonment for distributing leaflets calling for demonstrations against China.

Two students, Nguyen Kha and Phuong  Uyen were sentenced today to 8 and 6 years of imprisonment for “handing out leaflets urging protests against China’s territorial claims in the South China Sea” after a 1 day trial in Long An, Vietnam. Again, they were charged and sentenced under article 88 of the Vietnamese Criminal Code.
